Our Story
London Tenant Services was founded by a former London tenant who discovered — only after moving out — that their landlord had failed to license a shared property correctly.
This oversight, while hidden at the time, meant they were likely entitled to reclaim thousands in unlawfully collected rent through a Rent Repayment Order (RRO).But like most tenants, they had never heard of RROs. And even after learning about them, the process felt confusing, legalistic, and hard to navigate alone.
That experience sparked London Tenant Services: a service designed to help renters understand and pursue their rights when landlords break the rules.
Our Purpose
Too many private renters are left in the dark when it comes to their housing rights. Whether it’s a missing HMO licence or other serious breaches, these issues are more common than tenants realise — and the result can be significant rent refunds.
But knowing you have a case isn’t enough. Many tenants struggle to understand what steps to take, how to apply, or what evidence is needed.
That’s where we come in. London Tenant Services was created to bridge that gap — offering clarity, support, and accessible guidance throughout the RRO process.
